The members of the Steering Committee of the House Special Committee on Disaster Planning, Crisis Management, Recovery and Long-Term Revitalization chaired by Representative John A. Alario, Jr., and members of the Executive Committee of the Senate Select Committee on Disaster Planning, Crisis Management, Recovery and Long-Term Revitalization chaired by Senator Walter Boasso will meet jointly as follows:

DATE: Monday, December 12, 2005

TIME: 10:00 a.m.

PLACE: House Committee Room 5

PURPOSE: To receive testimony from various parish levee boards

    I’ll be working, but could take time during my lunch break to stop by.

    It would be interesting to go. My suspicion is that it would be next to impossible to drive there, park, and then do anything useful, during a lunch break (especially with traffic the way it is now). I think it might be just as effective for us to have our voices heard by contacting the members of the committee and levee board members making clear our resolve to eliminate the levee boards and create one regional board.

    Yeah, but I work within walking distance to the capital itself. So, if I can swing it, I’ll try to stop by (and now that I live sort of nearby, I might even be able to squeeze in a quick lunch as well).
